Abstract
847,612. Scrubbing gases. SOUTHERN LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE CORPORATION. Dec. 7, 1956 [July 13, 1956], No. 37556/56. Class 55 (2). A gas scrubber consists of a long rectilinear casing having an inlet 10 and an outlet 17, the gas being deflected during its passage through the casing by series of staggered baffles and lattice-work baffles while subjected successively to the action of steam from header 21 and nozzles 20, low pressure water-spray from headers 30-34 and nozzles 29 and finally highpressure water spray from headers 43 and 42. The casing has a draining channel 18 sloping towards the drain hole 19. The gas passes between members 48, 49 before leaving by 17. U.S.A. Specification 2,696,274 is referred to.
