In an electric horn having an E-shaped electromagnet 2 with the magnet winding 4 on the central limb 3, part of the magnetic flux is conducted through a shunt ring 5 made of sheet-metal and partly enclosing the central limb 3 of the electromagnet 2, the ring 5 serving also as a holder for the magnet winding 4.
