Abstract

847,148. Typewriters &c. LAMSON PARAGON Ltd. Dec. 16, 1958 [Dec, 16, 1957], No.- 39104/57. Class 100(4) A platen unit comprises side plates 1, 2 joined by a tie rod 3 and mounting the platen 4, and rods 7, 12 supporting a pin feed tractor device 10. The rod 7, to which the drive sprockets 9 are splined, is driven by gearing 13-133 from a gear 14 on the platen shaft 6. The paper is fed between extension portions 19a of gates 19, associated with each tractor device, and a guide plate 18. The tractor devices and the guide plate 18 are adjustable longitudinally of the platen. Pivoted hooked arms are provided on the plates 1, 2 to engage a fixed part of the typewriter. The gates 19 have a plate portion 22 spring urged into the operative position, the pressure being adjustably controlled by an eccentric disc mounted on an extension of the plates.
