Abstract

846,838. Ammunition cartridge wads. GEVELOT S. A. Jan. 30, 1959, No. 3389/59. Class 9(1). A shot-gun cartridge having an over powder wad 4 as in Specification 673,572 is provided with a gas-check cup 6 of flexible material between the wad and the shot. The cup 6 may be made of flexible cardboard or a synthetic rubber and may have a boss 8 engaged in the wad 4. A disc 5 overlying the powder 2 may be separated from the load 4 by a compressible disc, e.g. of lubricated felt. Other parts may also be impregnated with a lubricant such as paraffin.
