Class 137 In a ventilator comprising a frame 1, 2 secured in an aperture in a support such as a windowframe 3, .the frame 1, 2 comprises co-operating parts located on opposite sides secured together to grip the edges of the aperture between them, and an airflow control member detachably securable in the frame 1, 2. The airflow control member may be of two portions (Fig. 1) and comprises a surround 6, in which inclined vanes 7 are mounted strengthened by a bar 8 carrying a boss 9 and having an operable closure plate 17 with a grip 21 on its inner face hinged to a segmental plate 18 thereon with an abutment 19 to obstruct an abutment 20 to limit the opening of the plate 17. The plate 17 has strip springs 22 to.co-operate with a vane or vanes to hold it when closed. A ring 2 has a flange 5 to fit into an outer ring 1, to form the frame, and to receive the airflow control member. To hold together the frame 1, 2 and airflow control member an abutment 12 in the nange 5 co-operates with a recess in the surround 6 seated against a lip 10, another abutment 11 in the flange 5 having a slot 13 for the ribs 8, a strip spring interacting with a slidable catch member 16, mounted in a slot 14 in the ring 2, detachably locking the airflow control member in the frame. Apart from springs, pivot pins, screws and like small items the ventilator is preferably of transparent synthetic resin.
