Abstract

846,352. Slip-couplings. GELENKWELLENBAU G.m.b.H. April 24, 1958 [July 24, 1957], No. 13052/58. Class 80 (2). Frusto-spherical recesses 1a in a disc 1 are engaged by balls 3 mounted in a cage 4 and abutted by a thrust-plate 5 biased to engage the balls in the recesses by plate-springs 10, keys 6 allowing a flanged sleeve 7 to be adjusted axially of the coupling to vary the compression of the springs. Needle roller bearings 9 support the flanged sleeve 7 upon a central bolt 8 holding the coupling together. The coupling is surrounded by a sheet-metal casing 11.
