Abstract

1,153,987. Bearings. NADELLA S.A. and A. PITNER. 23 June, 1966 [24 June, 1965; 6 June, 1966], No. 28015/66. Heading F2A. A needle bearing comprises a race 1 with radial end flanges 4, a rigid washer 8 between the needles and one flange, and a resilient seal 6 between the washer 8 and the one flange, an axial flange 11 of the seal being compressed between the washer and race ring. The seal is of rubber and is more firmly connected to the washer by vulcanization (Fig. 1), or by engaging tapered surfaces (Figs. 2 and 4, not shown). The seal and flange 4 are connected by studs and notches in Fig. 2 (not shown) and by engaging tapered surfaces in Fig. 4 (not shown). The washer and seal are placed in the ring before formation of the second flange.
