Abstract
818,901. Roller conveyers. SHEEPBRIDGE STOKES Ltd., and DAVY, R. T. Nov. 13, 1957 [Nov. 30, 1956], No. 36757/56. Class 78 (1). The spindle 18 of each roller 10 is supported at each end by a bearing 15 encircled by a rubber block 13 which is accommodated in a socket either in the end of the roller, Fig. 1, or in the side frame 19, Fig. 2, and is formed with an inwardly directed shoulder 14, or shoulders which is, or are, arranged to abut against the side face, or faces, of the bearing. The spindle may carry a roller on each side of the support 19. The block 13, Fig. 6, is formed with two grooves 33 to receive plain bearings 34 and the block 13, Fig. 7, has a single recess 36 to receive bearings 34 and a spacing sleeve 37. The block 13, Fig. 8, may be formed with an internal concave surface 36 and the plain bearing 38 with a concave surface 39 of similar curvature. In a modification (not shown) the surface 36 may be convex and the surface 39 concave. In another modification a circumferential rectangular recess formed in the outer surface of a plain bearing receives a similarly shaped projection formed on the block 13. In other modifications, similar to the constructions shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the rollers 10 are solid.
