Abstract

A bleaching bath for the treatment of fibres of natural cellulose, regenerated cellulose, cellulose esters or fully synthetic fibres, or yarns and woven or knitted fabrics or other textile goods manufactured therefrom, contains permonosulphuric acid or a salt thereof and oxalic acid or a salt thereof. The bath preferably contains 0,5 to 5 parts of oxalic acid or sodium oxalate to 10 parts of permonosulphuric acid or its salt and is preferably maintained at 60 to 100 DEG C. The bath may also contain trisodium phosphate and disodium phosphate. Specified fibres are cotton, viscose rayon and polyamides.
