Abstract

844,361. Boots &c. TODDLERS FOOTWEAR (1954) Ltd. Sept. 7, 1956 [June 9, 1955], No. 16581/55. Addition to 765,493. Class 17(2) Various modifications of the shoe of the parent Specification are described each providing at least two sole or heel members having entensions reaching substantially to the top of the upper at the heel and being attached to the inverted back strap of the parent Specification. As shown the upper I is out turned and stitched together with a welt 10 to an insole 14 which has an extension 14<SP>1</SP> secured to an inverted back strap 8. An outsole 4 extends to the heel at 5 and a heel piece 6 is secured over it and has an extension 7 extending over the extension 14<SP>1</SP> of the insole to provide two strengthening layers at the heel. In another modification the insole has no extension so that the heel piece extension is connected directly to the back strap and the outsole is provided with an extension forming the second layer at the heel while in another modification the two strengthening layers are formed by inner and outer heel pieces with neither the insole nor the outsole having an extension. A tack-lasted construction is described.
