A filter for vehicle fuel tanks comprises a cap A, containing a flexible sleeve B to receive the nozzle of a fuel supply pump, to which is secured a U- shaped perforated member H. An outer perforated cage F and an inner filter element E are secured by a screw G so that their upper ends contact the cap A. The filter E may be of ceramic material or a conglomerate of filtering material retained by a wire gauge D.
