Abstract

A tobacco product has added thereto a small amount of 1-methyl-2-pyrrolecarboxaldehyde as a flavourant. The amount added is between 0.001 and 1.0% and preferably between 0.005 and 0.03% by weight of the additive which may be added in the form of a liquid solution or suspension. The tobacco product may be, for example, tobacco, filter material or a tobacco substitute.
