Abstract

843,933. Inductors; switching systems. AUSTIN MOTOR CO. Ltd. April 2, 1957 [Aug. 30, 1956], No. 13143/56. Classes 38 (2) and 38 (4). A variable inductor comprises a fixed magnetic core member 12 carrying a winding 13, and a movable yoke member 14 attached by rods 16 to a member 17 which is movable downwards by a push button 19. Springs 18 normally keep the yoke in engagement with the member 12. A two-part casing 10, 11 is provided. The core may be of ferrite material. The yoke may be pivoted, and the core of cylindrical pot form. The inductor is used in a control circuit for a relay 24 including an auto transformer 20 and rectifiers 23, when depressing the push button on the inductor 13 decreases its impedance and allows the relay to operate.
