843,338. Rotary joints. VOSS, H. H. Nov. 6, 1958 [Nov. 8, 1957], No. 35639/58. Class 99(1). A swivel-type pipe fitting, Figs. 1 and 2, comprises an angularly adjustable hollow member 5 provided with a screw-threaded, pipeconnecting branch 5a and a hollow plug 6 screwed into the bore of an apparatus 7 with which connection is to be made, the plug 6 having passages 6a in its wall for intercommunication with an eccentrically surrounding annular channel 5<SP>1</SP> inside the member 5 and being provided with a hexagonal head 6b for engagement by a tool. As shown, the plug 6 is located centrally in the member 5 and is in contact with the inside wall of the member at a point diagonally opposite the branch 5a ; alternatively, the plug is located eccentrically in the member. The bottom face 6<SP>1</SP> of the plug 6 is conically recessed or flat, or has a central, cone-shaped, acuminate elevation.
