[Also in Group XXV] A device for attaching a crash helmet 2 on a motorcycle to prevent unauthorised removal comprises a ring 1 for engaging over the helmet and having a diameter to grip on the wall of the helmet clamping means mounted on diametrically opposite sides of the ring and adapted to engage the frame 8 of a cycle saddle 11 and clamp the helmet between the ring and the top of the saddle, adjustable means e.g. a wing nut 12 associated with the clamping means for tightening the clamping means and means for enabling the clamping means to be locked against removal from the clamping position. The ring is formed in four sections 1a which are pivoted together and lugs 3 and 4 are mounted on pivot pins of the section on diametrically opposite sides of the ring 1. The lug 4 forms a socket .for a pivot pin 5 and a rod 6 is received in a screw threaded hole in the pin 5. A hooked clamping member 7 forms a head for the rod 6 and the clamping member 7 engages under the frame 8 of the cycle saddle. On the diametrically opposite side of the ring the lug 3 carries a pivot pin 8a the pivot pin carrying a screwed rod 9 which carries a hooked clamping lug 7a which is adapted to engage the frame 8. The length of the rod 6 is adjusted before the device is engaged with the saddle and when the helmet is placed on the saddle and the device is engaged with the frame it is clamped in position by means of the adjustable wing nut 12 on the rod 9. A padlock prevents the rotation of the wing nut 12 by engaging either a hole in the lug 7a or in the nut 12. If desired a chain passing under the saddle frame can be engaged with the rods 6 and 9. In a modification a chain is attached at one end to the lug 4 and after passing under the cycle frame is engaged on the rod 9 and tightened by the wing nut 12.
