Class 20(3) In a channel shaped guide for receiving the end marginal part of a frameless sash and having a weather strip 5 at the inner face of one flange 2 thrusting the marginal parts against the opposite flange 6, the contacting face of the flange 6 is provided with a facing 11 of metal, e.g. stainless steel or bronze harder than the material of the channel, e.g. aluminium alloy, and is non- corrodible. The metal strip 11 has its edges located in a dovetail groove 7 narrower than the strip, in the facing of the flange 6 so as to be bowed transversely and is supported at the centre of the bow by a rib 12. The pressure exerted on the sash by the strip 5 may be adjusted by bending the strip round the parts 16a of the flange 2 or round the parts 16b to hold the smaller or lighter panels in their adjusted position or balancing springs may be provided for the heavier panels.
