Abstract
840,964. Tedding devices. VAN DER LELYN. V., C. Aug. 9, 1956 [Aug. 13, 1955], No. 24455/56. Class 6(3). A tedding device comprises rake wheels 30 rigidly mounted on an axle 16 which in turn is rotatably mounted on a tractor-drawn frame 8, the axle 16 being inclined to the travelling direction of the implement. The frame is attached to the tractor by a link 6 adjustably secured to the draw bar 3 of the tractor, and is further supported by ground wheels 20 and 24, both of which are pivotally mounted on the frame, means being provided for fixing the rearmost wheel 24 in any desired position. The axle 16 is rotated by a chain and sprocket arrangement 35, 36 and 37, the sprocket wheel 37 being driven from the power take-off of the tractor via a telescopic shaft 43 and universal joint 42. The rake wheels each comprise a disc 50 rigidly mounted on the axle 16 and to which spokes 52 and 53 are clamped by means of bolts 51. The spokes pass through a perforated rim 54 and are bent outside the rim in directions out of the plane of the rim to form supporting members for tines 57 and 58, the tines lying in a plane parallel to the plane containing the spokes.
