Abstract

839,809. Baking pans. EKCO PRODUCTS CO. June 20, 1958 [Aug. 1, 1957], No. 19787/58. Class 66. [Also in Group XXII] In a method of making a receptacle e.g. a baking pan from a preformed sheet metal blank, Fig. 4, a flange 15 of the blank is simultaneously perforated and trimmed to produce a perforation 16 located on a line C-C bisecting the corner angle and lying outwardly of a line D-D and to trim the flange along a line E-E, the trimmed flange being simultaneously downwardly bent along lines GG, FF &c., which emanate radially from the perforation and are parallel to the walls of the receptacle, and subsequently curled inwardly to form a bead. The blank is stamped initially from a flat sheet. A further perforation 17, which with the perforation 16 form hanging or handling eyelets, may be provided.
