Abstract

846,440. Edible cups for ice-cream &c. MARYLAND BAKING CO. Nov. 25, 1958, No. 37901/58. Class 49. An edible cup made of pastry for holding icecream &c. is circular in cross-section and comprises a downwardly tapering frusto-conical side-wall 11, a bottom 23, which may be flat, as shown, or inwardly, e.g. spherically or conically, dished and internal reinforcing ribs 16 integral with the side-wall and bottom. The side-wall, bottom and ribs of the cup are shaped so that contact between the ribs and the bottom of a similar cup nested therein is limited to portions 20 adjacent the side-wall. The major central portions 22 of the upper edges of the ribs may be recessed. Preferably, the cup is provided with a nesting protuberance 14 around its sidewall and a flared portion 12 around its mouth. Specification 621,932 is referred to.
