Abstract

839,080. Rolling and dividing dough. LUC, J. L., and KEMPER Ltd. Sept. 7, 1956 [Sept. 16, 1955], No. 27494/56. Class 87(2). [Also in Groups VI, XI, XII, XVIII and XXX] In an oven for baking bread &c. (Groups XI and XII), a hopper 2 receives dough which is maintained at the desired temperature by a hot vapour jacket 47 connected to a conduit 48 and which, when a slide 3 is withdrawn, passes between aluminium measuring cylinders 4, 5. The cylinders are driven by gears and one at least has longitudinal cavities 5a and laterally movable side members 51, adjustment of the latter enabling the size of the cavities and thus the volume of each piece of dough, to be varied ; weight 61 provides an indication of the size of the dough pieces being formed. The cylinders 4, 5 may be of chromium plated steel or other metal or they may be covered with a silicone enamel or tetrafluorethylene. The cavities of the cylinder(s) may be circmnferential. The pieces of dough 7 fall on to a belt 6 of compressed felt and are elongated as they pass beneath a pivoted and spring loaded plate 8 and through a tapering passageway 9. A regulator 12 then deposits the pieces on a belt 18. Before moving into the baking chamber, the pieces of dough pass beneath a divider, Fig. 6, for making incisions in the top of the dough, which includes a frame 70 pivoted on a shaft 69 and rockable by means at each side of the device comprising a wheel 72 having de. pressions engageable by a .roller 71. A further frame carrying a plurality of blades 78 may be moved laterally on link members 73 by electromagnetic means 74. When a roller 71 moves out of a depression, the frames and the blades are rocked downwardly towards a piece of dough, electrical contact is made between members 75, 76, and the blades are moved across the top of the piece of dough. Specification 779,527 is referred to.
