Abstract
838,196. Admission passages. DAIMLERBENZ A. G. July 23, 1958 [Aug. 2, 1957], No. 23736/58. Class 7(2) The admission passage 15 descends steeply from the upper part 7 of the cylinder head and enters a helical chamber 10 the walls of which are spiral as viewed in plan, Fig. 6, which chamber produces swirl in the air in the cylinder. The upper part of the passage, 15 is inclined to the cylinder axis at an angle a not greater than 40 degrees. The upper and lower surfaces of the cylinder head may be inclined.
