837,136. Vibratory mechanisms. DEISTER CONCENTRATOR CO. Inc. Sept. 17, 1957 [Oct. 1, 1956; July 9, 1957], No. 29286/57. Class 80 (4). [Also in Group II] A vibratory mechanism comprises a housing having two pairs of parallel shafts 182, 184 and 186, 188 having gear-wheels secured thereto, 186 and 188 having gears 198 and 200 of the same pitch diameter and number of teeth and 182 and 184 having gears 194 and 196 of twice the pitch diameter and double the number of teeth of the wheels 198 and 200. Gear-wheels 198, and 194, 194 and 196, and 196 and 200 are in mesh and shaft 188 extends through the housing and may be provided with a drive pulley. Eccentric weights 210, 214, 202 and 206 are secured to gear-wheels 198, 200, 194 and 196 respectively, the weights having apertures to receive plugs of different weight so that the differential of the mechanism may be altered. The eccentric weights are positioned on the gear-wheels in such manner that they do not interfere with one another during rotation. In use the mechanism produces a maximum deceleration in one direction greater than in the other direction.
