Abstract

836,770. Electron beam focusing apparatus. MULLARD Ltd. Jan. 2, 1959, No. 208/59. Class 39(1). A magnetic focusing assembly for an electron beam comprises two coaxial magnets 7, Fig. 4 low reluctance and plates 12 and three of more low reluctance connecting limbs 13, at least two of which include a variable reluctance means 14 so that the position of the beam cross-over may be adjusted. Each variable reluctance means consists of a brass insert 17, Fig. 6, and a threaded magnetic shunt 19.
