Abstract
1485329 Cyclotrons ATOMIC ENERGY OF CANADA Ltd 11 Dec 1975 [7 March 1975] 50885/75 Heading H1D In an isochronous cyclotron having flutter poles 16, trimming of the magnetic field, e.g. to permit operation at different output energies, is effected by reds 25 of magnetic metal movable in bores 26 passing through the polepieces. As shown, an identical array of rods in each polepiece is employed, the rods being graded in size in the radial direction. The cyclotron may have a magnetic yoke 10 which acts as a shield and includes cryostats 11 and 12 containing superconductive main coils 13A and 13B.
