Abstract

836,196. Code telegraphy. TELEFUNKEN G.m.b.H. June 28, 1956 [June 29, 1955], No. 20036/56. Class 40 (3). In receiving apparatus for pulse code signals, such as teleprinter signals, in which signal evaluation is dependent upon the signal waveform crossing a predetermined threshold and in which the signal is liable to frequency band limitation and loss of the D.C. component, there are provided in a branch of the signal transmission path two oppositely-poled peak rectifiers G1, G2 which function to derive the D.C. component of the signals and means for introducing the component into the signal path in such way as to tend to cause the signal fed to the evaluation device to have equal amplitude excursions about a predetermined value. The means for introducing the D.C. component comprises amplifier V2 having a cathode load K in common with amplifier V1 receiving the incoming signal. Rectifiers Gland G2 have equal loads CR joined by equal resistors R1, R2, from the junction of which the D.C. component is derived. Reference is made to the use of the invention in receivers for frequency-modulated signals.
