Abstract
836,013. Extruding. PECHINEY COMPAGNIE DE PRODUITS CHIMIQUES ET ELECTROMETALLURGIQUES. June 15, 1956 [June 17, 1955], No. 18670/56. Class 83 (4). In the extrusion of tubular parts including sheaths or cables and wires, a mandrel 5 is used whose nose end 6 penetrates into the die inlet and makes an angle of between 10 and 20 degrees with the die axis, and the die inlet has a tapered surface 10 which makes an angle of between 2 and 15 degrees with the axis. The sheath is extruded from heated metal billets and the invention is stated to prevent or reduce stop marks on the sheath. A specific example is given.
