1,146,718. Extruding. COMPAGNIE DU FILAGE DES METAUX ET DES JOINTS CURTY (CEFILAC). 13 June, 1966 [15 June, 1965], No. 26186/66. Heading B3P. In the hot extrusion of metals or alloys, a ring 2 of agglomerated lubricant powder, such as glass, which becomes viscous during extrusion, is placed against the entry face of the die 3 where it is trapped by the rounded or chamfered leading edge of the billet. A specific example is given for the extrusion of a carbon steel billet. Window glass powder may be used for the lubricant, agglomerated as described in Specification 795,989.
