835,654. Agricultural implements. VAN DER LELY N.V., C. March 11, 1958 [March 13, 1957], No. 7749/58. Class 6(1). A device for weeding plant rows or for thinning out beets comprises at least one weeding wheel and means for detachably fastening the device on a hoe or a hoe holder of a weeding machine. As shown a hoe stem has secured to it by means of a clamping claw 5 and bolt a transverse rod 4 on which are adjustably mounted sleeves 7 each having a projecting arm 8 terminating on a shaft 9 for a weeding wheel 10 which is freely rotatable thereon. The sleeves 7 are adjustable along the rod 4 and are held by pins 11. The weeding wheels may each consist of a disc having a hub 16 and tines 17 formed in pairs from a single piece of wire and secured by means of a bolt 18 the tines being held between lugs 19 disposed around the periphery of the wheel. In order to control the pressure of the weeding wheels on the ground weights may be fastened on either side of the weeding wheels or may be fastened on lugs mounted on the sleeves 7 to act as counterweights.
