835,460. Walking aids. COX Ltd., S. May 7, 1958 [April 2, 1957], No. 10680/57. Class 132(1) A walking aid comprises a wheeled framework with a support for the user arranged to apply a brake to the framework when subjected to downward pressure. As shown, the aid comprises a frame 1, 2 with legs 3 fitted with wheels 4 and carrying uprights 5, 6 connected by a member 7. Sticks 10 with hand rests 11 are connected to uprights 5, 6 by pairs of hinged links 12, springs 13 being provided to bias the sticks 10 to an upper position. The lower ends of sticks 10 carry ferrules 15 so that, when pressure is exerted on rests 11, ferrules 15 engages the ground and hold the frame stationary. The hand rests may be replaced by crutches or a frame with a harness.
