834,823. Granulating slag. BABCOCK & WILCOX Ltd. June 28, 1956 [July 1, 1955], No. 20014/56. Class 22. [Also in Group XII] Slag passes through an outlet 25 in the floor of the furnace, through a spout 35 into a receiver 30 containing a fluid coolant. A motor driven propeller 60 moves a stream of coolant across the path of the falling slag thereby breaking up the newly solidified lumps into small pieces which are removed by a battery of screw conveyers 70.
