Abstract

A head-piece for a pressurized suit, worn over a respirator or crash-helmet at low atmospheric pressure, is formed of flexible material and has a transparent visor. The head-piece is erected, closed and sealed by a system of rubber tube incorporated in the material and connected to a compressed gas supply. The erection of the neck and rear, the closing of the visor and the sealing take place in sequence by the operation of valves mounted in the rubber tubing and which open at predetermined pressures to admit gas into the tubes in each section in turn. The engaging edges of the visor and head-piece overlap and are urged tightly together by the tensioning action of the pressurized tubing in each edge.
