A dishwashing apparatus of the type having rotatable spraying means adapted to spray dishes with water or cleansing liquid by means of orifices or jets describing irregular paths during the washing process, is characterised in that the rotatable spraying means is mounted on a swingable supply pipe or hose for the water or cleansing liquid. The apparatus includes a casing and spraying means as described in Specification 833,433. In one form of the invention the supply pipe or hose 14, Fig. 6, is made of rubber and reinforced by an internal helical spring 24. The pipe 14 is moved by contact therewith of the irregular edge 371 of a rotatable member 37. Alternatively the rotatable member may be an eccentrically mounted disc. In the form shown in Figs. 7 and 8 the supply pipe comprises two parts 58, 56 connected together by an elastic hose 54, the part 58 being connected to a frame part 50 of the dishwashing casing, the hose 54 being fastened to the ends of leaf springs 51, 52 through a transverse member 53 and the part 56 carrying the rotatable springing means 57, the centre of gravity of the latter being displaced from the axis of rotation. Mounted for rotation on the pipe 56 are toothed wheels 59, 60 secured together, the wheel 59 being coaxial with the pipe whilst the wheel 60 is eccentric therewith. A leaf spring 62, fixed to the casing, engages the teeth of the wheel 60 so that, during each movement to the left in Fig. 8, of the pipe 56 due to swinging of the rotary sprayer 57 carried by its eccentric centre of gravity, the spring 62 is caused to engage a fresh tooth. The anti-clockwise rotation of the wheel 60 causes the position of the pipe 56 to continuously vary. The toothed' wheel 59 is engaged by a leaf spring 64 secured to the pipe 56 and prevents the wheels from rotating in a clockwise direction.
