832,634. Latches. GOWLAND, C. J. Nov. 26, 1957 [Aug. 30, 1956], No. 26514/56. Drawings to Specification. Class 44 Door latch furniture comprises a rose adapted to surround a latch spindle and housing one or two locking members, a handle or knob provided with a shank, a disc coaxial with the spindle and having means for co-operating with the or each locking member whereby the or each locking member is actuated by rotation of the disc to and from a locking position in which it or they engage directly upon the spindle or the shank to obstruct rotary movement thereof while the latch bolt is in the shut position. In the preferred embodiment, a pair of locking members is used, each having a stud thereon which engages an arcuate slot in the disc, so that rotation of .the disc slides the locking members into and out of engagement with the latch spindle or handle shank.
