Abstract

832,566. Furniture joints. BARNETT, J. A. Sept. 1, 1958 [May 31, 1957; June 24, 1957], Nos. 17298/57 and 19748/57. Class 52(2) [Also in Group XXVIII] A joint for furniture members 5, 6, Fig. 1, comprises a spigot 7 locked axially within the members by means of one or more spring wires 8 which are secured axially within channels 7b, Fig. 3, and which have outwardly cranked ends 8b adapted for spring engagement with holes 5a and 6a. The wires 8 are axially secured by a U-shaped loop 8a inserted in slots 7c and the spigot 7 is provided with a shoulder 7a to locate the ends of the members 5, 6. In another embodiment, Fig. 4, a spigot 9 is provided with a slot 9a and a channel 9b engaged by a U-shaped spring wire 12 having ears 12a which spring into the holes 11a in the socket 11.
