Abstract
A make-up or replenishment material for the aluminium coating baths disclosed in Specification 832,485 comprises sources of fluoride and the alkali metals sodium and potassium in a ratio of 0.0065-0.0455 mols of total alkali metal per gram of fluoride. The sodium and potassium are preferably present in molar proportions of 10-90% sodium, the remainder being potassium. The four materials given by way of example comprise fluorides and bifluorides of sodium and potassium, and in one case, cryolite.
