832,301. Radial flow turbines. INTERNATIONAL STAL CO. A.B. Feb. 3, 1958, No. 3462/58. Class 110 (3). [Also in Group XXIV] In a steam or gas turbine of the radial flow type having a connection between a blade ring element 1 and a disc element 2 wherein radial pins 7 carried by one element 2 are slidable in holes in the other 1, to accommodate relative radial movement due to differential thermal expansion or centrifugal force, any tendency to relative conical movement between the elements is permitted by a spherical formation 8 integral with or slidable on the pin 7. The sperical formation when slidable on the pin may be retained in a spherical socket in the element 1 as by a separate ring, Fig. 8 (not shown), or by an interlocking fit, Fig. 9 (not shown).
