Abstract
1499586 Turbines ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO Ltd 16 July 1976 [10 Sept 1975] 37239/75 Heading FIT The blades 1 of a steam turbine rotor disc are inter-connected by straight lacing members 5 extending axially and circumferentially of the disc, as in Specification 1037951, the lacing members being received at their ends in holes in the blades and serving to produce an elastic twisting of the blades (from 2. 1 to 2) so that the members remain in abutment with the blades over the full normal operating range of the disc. In Fig. 2, each lacing member is in the form of a rod with shoulders 6 for abutting the blades, and in Fig. 3 each member includes a rod 7 having a sleeve 7 secured thereto which abuts the blades. The lacing members may be arranged in one row or in two or more rows, and each member may also extend radially as well as circumferentially and axially of the disc. The lacing members may extend completely through the blades or be received in blind holes formed in bosses on the blades.
