Abstract

832,008. Lighting fittings for tubular lamps. CROSSLAND Ltd., R. & A. G. June 27, 1958 [July 11, 1957], No. 21990/57. Class 75(4) A lighting fitting for tubular fluorescent lamps for mounting in a recess in a ceiling, comprises an inverted trough 1 containing the lamp holders 6 and having outwardly directed flanges 2, a resilient gasket 11 e.g. of rubber embracing the outer portion of the flanges and having a part 12 of reduced thickness projecting beyond the main body to lie against the ceiling, and a transparent or translucent cover 12 shaped to bear on the extensions of the gasket and having means for attaching it to the flanges of the troughs. The means may comprise pegs 14, the upper enlarged ends 15 of which are engaged by spring clips 16, resilient washers 17 being provided between the heads and the cover 13 and between the cover 13 and a knob 18 on the opposite end of the peg. The lamp holders may be carried by a tray 5 on which the operating gear may also be mounted. The tray is secured to the trough 1 by supporting brackets 9 and may also be connected thereto by chains 10.
