Abstract

831,700. Valves. FALCON ALARM CO. Inc. Dec. 13, 1957 [Dec. 24, 19561, No. 38858/57. Class 135. A valve suitable for attachment to a gas pressure cylinder 10 to control the operation of a signalling device such a diaphragm type horn connected to an outlet 31 consists of a valve seating disc 20 clamped between housing parts 11, 12 which are screwed together and a movable closure member 18 urged by a spring 23 into engagement with the seating. The closure member is made of a resilient material such as nylon and has a coned end 19 to coact with a correspondingly-shaped recess 22 in the seating disc 20. An actuating pin 26 carrying an extension 27 which passes through the seating disc to engage the closure member is urged away from the latter by a spring 28 and is actuated by a cam formed on a lever 33 which is pivoted at 34. The lever 33 may be actuated by a simple linkage or it may form part of a spring toggle mechanism. The lower part 12 of the housing is provided with a connection 16 for a pressure gauge.
