831,361. Mitering; sawing. HOLLAND & HANNEN & CUBITTS (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd. Dec. 31, 1958 [Dec. 31, 1957], No. 40392/57. Class 145. A mitre gauge comprises a pair of L-section supports 5, 6 which are angularly adjustable about a pivot 10 and have clamps 32 by which the members to be joined can be held within the L-sections in overlapping relation so that a mitre can be cut in both simultaneously by a saw blade held in a frame 22 having a cross member 24 reciprocable in guides 27 vertically slidable on pillars 25, 26. For adjustment of the angle between the supports, a pin 11 on the outer end of each support extends through a slot 12, Fig. 1 (not shown), in the base plate 2 and is connected by a link 13 to a member 14 adjustable by a threaded shaft 15 having a knurled wheel 19 and a locking member 20. The vertical sides of the supports 5, 6 are cut away at 5b, 6b to allow passage of the saw end, to allow mitering of members consisting of several parts clamped together, recesses and slots 34, 35 are provided to accommodate the clamps.
