Abstract
828,428. Sawing. GJERDE, A. Sept. 19, 1958 [Oct. 17, 1957], No. 30025/58. Class 145. A transportable saw bench, having a saw 37 adjustable about three mutually perpendicular axes similarly to that described in Specification 718,963, has a work table 8 which has a curved end and is carried by a braced tubular structure 2 with vertical members 4 at one side only so that, even when the saw mounting frame 31 is lifted about a horizontal pivot 32 for crosscutting until the raising handle 43 is above, the table, adjustment of the saw about a vertical pivot 21 is possible through at least 180 degrees. The pivot 32 is carried by a support frame 27 which is pivoted at 24 in a bearing ring of a disc 11 rotatably guided in the table 8 and having a saw slot 15. A yoke 20 interconnects brackets 18, 19 on the bearing ring with the pivot 21 and a screw 30 engages an arcuate part 29 of the yoke for clamping the saw in adjusted position about the pivots 24. A screw 39 engaging an arcuate rail 40 on the frame 27 and a screw 44 engaging the bearing ring secure the saw in adjusted positions about the axes 32 and 21, respectively.
