Woodworking apparatus for sawing, moulding or routing comprises a base 1, a tool carriage 21 slideable on rod and tube members 11, 12 of a subframe and arcuate projections 14 on side arms 13 of the subframe engaging arcuate grooves 15 in frame arms 2 to support the sub-frame for adjustment of the tool about an axis parallel to the top of a slotted worktable 3 so that the working angle of the tool 10 relative to the table top can be varied. The base 1 has a single aperture 5 but the apparatus can be rotatably attached to a bench and the table top is in two parts adjustably secured by bolts 8 in elongated slots and located by studs in spaced holes so that the width of the tool slot 7 can be varied. For holding the sub-frame in adjusted angular position, a long bolt 16 passes through arcuate slots 17 in the two frame arms and through the tube member 12 and at one end has a clamping nut 19. For indicating the amount of angular adjustment, a pointer 51 co-operates with a scale 52 on an arcuate slot 47 through which passes a rod 46 for traversing the carriage 21 along the members 11, 12. The switch 50 for a driving motor on the carriage 21 may be incorporated in the handle 49 of the rod 46. The motor and reduction gearing to a tool spindle 36 are carried by a casing 33 which can be raised and lowered on posts 27, 28 by screw threads 27b on the post 27 and in a bearing 39a. A swing knife 42 for the saw 10 is attached to the motor casing 33. A saw guard may be attached to the swing knife and shields are provided on the sub-frame to cover the parts of the saw beneath the table. A bracket 53 having a split socket 58 for a fence arm 59 can be fitted to a screw 54 by a screwed collar 55 and is located by studs 57 and 57a. To adapt the apparatus for spindle moulding, the rod 46 is removed and the bolt 16 is fitted through alternative holes 62 in the frame arms after the sub-frame has been through 90 degrees so that motor spindle is positioned beneath a hole in the table to one side of the slot 7. If a routing cutter is fitted, the slot 7 is widened by moving back one half of the table so that the cutter can project through the slot. The first Provisional Specification describes an open tubular cradle with a square frame in which a rotatably-adjustable slotted work-table is secured in angularly-adjusted position by tightening a flexible band. The tubular slideway carrying the tool carriage is adjustable up and down pivoted arms by rack and pinion means. A sawing fence has clamps at each end for securing it to the table frame and, for moulding, a fence provided with a bearing for the tool spindle may be fitted.
