Abstract

829,389. Heating or cooling granular materials; drying apparatus. FULLER CO. Feb. 10, 1958, No. 4319/58. Classes 34(2) and 64(2) [Also in Group XXX] As described in Specification 802,972, a conveying trough 5 is supported by resilient members 2 and is vibrated by an el e ctromagnetic vibrator, revolving eccentric weights, or by a connecting rod driven by a rotating eccentric; gas is supplied through a tube 15 for fluidizing the material on a permeable support and in the present case the gas may be preheated, e.g. for drying the material, or precooled. Heat transfer tubes 18 having fins 20 may be located above the permeable deck 8, and may be replaced, or supplemented, by heating or cooling tubes 19a, Fig. 3, arranged above or below the deck. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 802,972.
