Abstract

The invention comprises metallized azo dye complexes wherein one atom of cobalt or chromium is complexed with one molecule of the azo dye of formula <FORM:0829125/IV(c)/1> In an example 2-aminophenol-4-sulphonamide is diazotized and coupled with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone in the presence of ammonia and the resultant dye is treated with chromium formate and formamide to give the 1 : 1-complex. The dyes are used to dye nitrogenous fibres, such as nylon, in yellow shades.
