829,019. Making anchor-nuts. TRUSSED CONCRETE STEEL CO. Ltd. Sept. 6, 1957 [Oct. 29, 1956], No. 32980/56. Class 83 (2). [Also in Group XXV] The housing 6, Fig. 1, of a socket for embedding in a wall &c. to secure either a bolt head 22 or a nut 25, Fig. 5, is made of a strip of metal cut and bent to form side walls 8, 9 which hold the head or nut against rotation, a base 21 having a flanged aperture 10 for the free passage of the bolt shank, or of a bolt engaging the nut, and anchoring lugs 11, 12 remote from the base. The lugs have elongated holes 24 to receive a reinforcing bar when the socket is cast in a concrete mass. The housing is closed by a thinner bent metal cover 14 spot-welded by its flanges 15 ... 18 to the base and lugs. In the nut socket, the walls 8, 9 have indents 27 to hold the nut adjacent the flanged aperture.
