Abstract

544,108. Ventilators. PRENDERGRAST, W. W., and CORNES, E. H. Nov. 15, 1940, No. 16530. [Class 137] A light-screening ventilator for openings in walls of buildings comprises a plate 1 having a slot 5 masked by a cowl 6 of greater depth than the slot, the spaces between the ends of the cowl and the plate being closed by end pieces 7. The cowl may be secured to the plate by welding, or may be inserted into the slot by a circular motion, and held by friction, slots 8 in the plate receiving the end pieces 7. In modifications, the cowl may be triangular or rectangular in crosssection.
