[Also in Group XXVII] A sound-absorber housing a is cast around an insert which comprises a perforated tube 4, with transversely extending sheet metal elements 5, 6, sound-absorbing material filling the spaces 7 between the sheet metal elements. The insert, with a tube 8 confining the soundabsorbing material, is used as a part of the core around which the housing 1 is cast.
