828,997. Ventilating. FAIRWEATHER, H. G. C. (Svenska Flaktfabriken A.B.). May 30, 1958, No. 17418/58. Class 137 A ventilating unit having an electric heater for final treatment of primary and recirculated air comprises a damper, arranged to allow more or less of the mixture to pass over the heater, co-operating with a temperature regulating device, which changes step-by-step the position of the damper, and a governor controlling the volume of primary air supplied which shuts off the heater if the pressure or quantity of primary air falls below a predetermined value. As shown, the unit comprises a primary air inlet 4 and governor 3, a recirculating air inlet 5, a damper 6 mounted on a shaft 7 and an electric heater 9 connected to a regulator 12. The shaft 7 may be connected to an arm 13 on the regulator which arm is arranged to pass over contacts so that the various positions of the damper result in control over the amount of current supplied to the heater. Should the pressure or volume of primary air fall below a predetermined value a cut-out switch 16 in the governor operates to switch off current to the heater.
