Abstract

828,740. Ceiling roses; two-part couplings. WARD & GOLDSTONE Ltd., and BRECKIN, P. H. June 13, 1958 [June 18, 1957], No: 19110/57. Class 38 (1). A ceiling rose of the type comprising two separable contact carrying parts has a detachable part comprising a conical exterior member 10 accommodating a standard lampholder interior 12 retained by a ring 17, having keyhole slots 18 which are engaged by parts 19 of screws 20. The detachable part is fixed to the stationary part by the bayonet slots 25 and screws 24. The slots 25 are in the ceiling plate 21 which is fixed to the edges of a display canopy. A standard lampholder adaptor 27 is mounted on a cranked bracket 26, fixed to 21, with its contacts spaced from the plane of plate 21 and above the clearance hole 28 so that they are engaged by the spring plunger contacts 16 of the lampholder interior 12 when the coupling is assembled. In Fig. 6 the coupling is modified for domestic use. The plate 21 is set flush with a moulded circular block 37 and secured to it by eyelets 38, wood screws passing through these to the ceiling structure. The block 37 is centrally recessed at both faces and'the intervening web 39 carries a pair of flush contacts 40 screwed to terminals 41.
