828,386. Photosensitive diazotype materials. SOC. AR. L. SA., P.HI. SOC. ALSACIENNE DE PAPIERS HELIOGRAPHIQUES INDUSTRIELS. Dec. 4, 1957 [Dec. 6, 1956], No. 37810/57. Class 98(2) Finely divided water-insoluble metal fluorides are included in, diazotype materials for the purpose of reducing specular reflection from, and producing higher overall density in, dye images produced in these materials. The fluorides may result from double decomposition using soluble flouride and metal salts, or from grinding for instance calcium fluoride, and may be added as to cellulose pulp from which a support layer is made, or coated on a support layer, or included in the diazo sensitizing solution or coated on top of a layer of this; and the diazo materials may be of the one-component type for semi-wet development or twocomponent for ammonia treatment. Ten examples and other descriptive matters disclose numerous fluorides, supports, diazo sensitizing substances with additives and colloids therefor, and couplers and developing solutions. The use of finely divided zinc oxide, barium sulphate, titanium white, silica and alumina in diazo materials also is referred to.
